The Joy of Coffee

21 01 2012

As a teenager, I always wanted to work at Starbucks. There’s something about the atmosphere of the soothing music, smell of fresh coffee, and people studying that pulls me in. I always want to snuggle up in on of the comfy chairs with a book on a rainy day.

To my despair, every time I applied at Starbucks they never hired me. Maybe it was a Godsend because I’ve been working at the best coffee shop in town (yes, maybe I’m a little biased, but come by and try it and you’ll agree!) for a few years now and I can’t drink Starbucks coffee anymore – my coffee taste is too particular! Coffee Break has become my second home and I come by on my days off because I’m so hopelessly addicted!

My latest project has been to take some new pictures for advertising. Here are some of my favorites!

Pulling shots is one of my favorite things. The perfect brown color, wonderful aroma, and smooth taste!

Espresso...one of the most important ingredients!

Dan, my model and almost daily customer. 😉

The GREEN mugs!

The perfect shot

Featured in the Lynchburg Humane Society Newsletter!

21 01 2012

Good Morning on this rainy Saturday! I’m at work with my white mocha enjoying the coziness.

I am so incredibly excited to announce that Bentley is featured in the Lynchburg Humane Society’s latest newsletter! He was such a darling, energetic dog! I’m sad to say he wasn’t adopted over the holidays, but maybe his feature in the newsletter with bring people in to adopt! I absolutely love the dogs at the Humane Society and am always checking in to see who is there and give them a little loving! I would take them all home if I could. As of now, my one bedroom castle is already overflowing with my crafting supplies and shoes, so I’ll just keep dropping by to love on the puppies!

Stay dry on this rainy day and maybe while you’re out, stop by at your local animal shelter and give the animals some love!

The Value of a Photo

5 01 2012

This blog post has been circulating quickly, but I thought I would share it as well. It is from fototails photography.

What an incredibly sad story, but also what a reminder that life is short and fragile. Today is what memories are made of and we may not have tomorrow.

2012

4 01 2012

Happy new year! I can’t believe its 2012 already! I was just trying to grab a hold of 2011!

I have been thinking about a lot of goals for the year and reading lots of blogs and inspiration of the sort. Here is a quote that was on Justin & Mary’s facebook “‎If you don’t have time to write down your goals, where are you going to find the time to accomplish them?” via @designaglow”.

Its so true! So, I am challenging myself to sit down and seriously think about what I want to accomplish personally and as a photographer. I will be posting back soon. I am challenging you to take time to think about what passed you by in 2011 and what you want to grab a hold of in 2012!
