The Goal for Today

7 01 2012

I’ve been fighting the frustration and jealousy of all the normal, healthy people talking about new years resolutions to get in shape etc. I have been sick for months, waiting on a diagnosis for my illness. And I still have weeks to go. As my health is quickly declining, I am struggling to see past January. Will things be different once the doctors tell me what is wrong? Is there a treatment? Is there hope? Or will every day be a struggle like it is now?

As I face the year I am overwhelmed with “What if’s” and the unknown. So today I have decided to face today for today and to live it for what it is. I am the type of person that doesn’t stop moving. I am always writing up the next To Do list and accomplishing something. In my exhaustion and pain I have become increasingly frustrated with accomplishing so little. Today as the sun is shining bright and hope is in the air, I have decided to make a goal for today. How much less frustrating and more attainable than focusing on an entire year!

Today I decided to spend some quality time with my baby, Chloe and take her on a walk.

Happy Friday! I hope your goals area attainable and already in progress!

Adorable Dogs at the Lynchburg Humane Society!

24 12 2011

Merry Christmas Eve! I hope you are having a wonderful, relaxing weekend surrounded by family and friends. I am currently sitting here with a peppermint white mocha and that just makes my day every time!

In the midst of the Christmas business I have finally found time to post these!

There is a special spot in my heart for the animals at the Lynchburg Humane Society.  My adorable dog, Chloe, (who is the topic of previous posts) was adopted from the Humane Society.  I stop by frequently to get to know these precious animals that are in need of homes.

At Coffee Break, we had a Christmas tree decorated with dogs in need of homes for the holidays. The problem is, a lot of the pictures were not good quality and hardly reflective of the dog’s personality. One Friday afternoon I spent some time getting to know some of the dogs and taking better pictures. Here are some of my favorites!

This is Hugo! Despite his big bark, he is the world's biggest snuggler!

This is Sloan. She's shy at first, but once she warms up to you she loves to play!

Andie and Sloan are kennel mates and best friends. Andie is adorable and bundles off fun!

Lucky has such a great personality and who couldn't love that one eared look?

The graceful beauty is Alette. She was so calm and well behaved. She has been adopted!

This absolutely beautiful boy is Webster! He has the cutest head tilt!

Bently, boy this guy was full of energy and lots of fun!

This is Conrad. He was very adorable and loved exploring!

Cookie was so sweet and lovable. She climbed up on the picnic table and looked at me with this puppy face.

Bruno was a small little guy. He was shy at first, but enjoyed an ear scratch. He has been adopted too!

Pamela was a sweet girl who definitely loved to explore.

Last, but not least is Teddy. He is a beautiful, spunky boy that will just steal your heart.

This picture was a huge hit at the Humane Society! Go Teddy!

I hope that I have the time to go back and take more pictures so more sweet dogs have a better chance of finding a forever home.

Have a wonderful Christmas!
